About the event

Self Catering Farm Visit

✨ Experience Overview

A relaxed farm visit designed for families, friends and groups who want to enjoy time outdoors, visit the animals and share food together in a dedicated area of the farm.

Self Catering Farm Visit is about:

• visiting the animals

• enjoying the outdoor spaces

• giving children time to play and explore

• bringing your own food from home

• optionally reserving a table

• optionally renting a barbecue

• spending a more flexible and affordable day at the farm

This is not a fully guided farm experience and it does not include food service. Instead, it is a simpler visit format where you can enjoy the farm at your own rhythm, with food only allowed inside the dedicated table and barbecue area.

This offer is being launched as a summer trial alongside our existing farm experiences. We want to see how visitors enjoy it, gather feedback, and decide whether this model could become part of our future offer.

🐐 How the Day Works

Guests can arrive during the openning hous. During your visit, you are free to:

• visit the animal areas open to guests

• meet and observe the animals

• enjoy the outdoor spaces

• use the children’s play area

• relax in the dedicated food area

• prepare and eat your own food in the dedicated table and barbecue area

• buy drinks, charcoal and other extras on site

• book donkey or pony rides for children, subject to availability

Our staff will be present on the farm and may offer informal explanations where appropriate, but this is not a structured guided tour.

Food brought from home must stay inside the dedicated table and barbecue area and cannot be taken around the farm or into the animal areas.

🍽️ Food and Drinks

This experience is the only exception to our normal farm rule on food brought from outside.

Guests who book Self Catering Farm Visit may bring their own food from home, but it must remain inside the dedicated table and barbecue area at all times.

For animal health, biosecurity and safety reasons:

• food cannot be taken into the animal areas

• food cannot be carried around the farm

• animals must never be fed with food brought from home

• leftovers must not be left on the ground or near fences

• all waste must be placed in the bins provided

• food brought from home may only be eaten in the designated area

Guests may bring water from home.

Other drinks may not be brought from outside. Soft drinks, water, beer, wine and other drinks are available to buy at the farm.

🔥 Table and Barbecue Area

The table and barbecue area is physically separated from the animal areas.

Animals cannot access this area, and food must stay within the space indicated. Guests may enter and leave the area during the day, but food cannot be taken into other parts of the farm.

To keep this offer simple and affordable, we ask all guests to leave the area clean, use the bins provided and separate waste correctly.

For safety reasons, barbecues must only be used in the designated area and according to staff instructions.

Personal barbecues, camping stoves, cooking plates or other cooking equipment are not permitted unless specifically approved by the farm.

👧 Children

This experience is suitable for families with children.

Children:

• remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times

• are welcome to use the play area

• may visit and observe the animals under supervision

• must not enter animal enclosures

• must not feed the animals anything brought with you

• must not take food outside the dedicated table and barbecue area

🎯 Who This Experience Is For

Perfect for:

• families looking for a more affordable day outdoors

• groups of friends who want to eat together at the farm

• visitors who prefer to bring their own food

• families who want to visit the farm without booking a food-included package

• anyone looking for a simple, relaxed and flexible day in nature

ℹ️ Good to Know

🌞 Summer Trial Experience

We know that the cost of a family day out has increased for everyone. This offer has been created to give visitors a simpler and more flexible way to enjoy the farm while keeping the experience affordable.

We will be listening to visitor feedback before deciding whether this model becomes part of our future offer.

🍽️ Food Brought From Home

Food brought from home is only allowed for this specific experience and only inside the dedicated table and barbecue area.

This exception does not apply to other farm packages, food-included experiences, the Donkey Picnic, school visits, private bookings or special events.

For all other experiences and events, the normal farm rule remains in place: outside food and drinks are not permitted.

🐾 Food, Biosecurity and Animals

For animal health and biosecurity reasons, food must never be taken into the animal areas and must never be given to animals.

This is an important safety requirement to protect the animals, prevent health problems and keep the farm safe for everyone.
